Background and Experience
Micaela is an experienced therapist with a strong foundation in evidence-based Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT). She provides structured, collaborative sessions to help individuals understand the underlying factors contributing to their challenges and develop practical, effective strategies for meaningful and lasting change.
Micaela also brings extensive experience in delivering intensive Behaviour Support Services grounded in Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) and Positive Behaviour Support (PBS). She specialises in working with children, adolescents and adults on the Autism Spectrum and/or with intellectual disability. Her approach is non-aversive and strengths-based, aiming to build skills, enhance positive interactions, improve quality of live and reduce behaviour that challenges. Following a comprehensive assessment, Micaela closely with family/whānau and support staff to design and implement tailored, function-based interventions that meet the unique needs of each individual and their support network.
